NEW WINDSOR, N.Y. (June 17, 2013) — The Hudson Valley Economic Development Corp. (HVEDC) announced today that attorney Jon A. Dorf has joined the organization’s board of directors.
Dorf is the managing partner of Dorf & Nelson LLP, whose headquarters are located in Rye. The firm practices in the following areas of the law: corporate, real estate, intellectual property, litigation, life sciences and not-for-profit. He started the practice as a sole practitioner more than 20 years ago, and since then has expanded the firm to include multiple practice areas and a wide range of experienced attorneys, as well as a number of paralegals and administrative professionals. Over the years, Dorf & Nelson has become known as a go-to source for trusted advice on all types of business legal issues.

Dorf also serves as the co-chair of the firm’s real estate department, handling large commercial refinances, leases, purchases and sales.
Over the course of his career, Dorf has been appointed to a number of key positions, including vice president and board member of the Westchester County Bar Association and board member and general counsel to the Westchester Business Council. He is also a former town prosecutor for the Town of Mamaroneck and has served in a number of other civic roles.
