New Windsor – (Jan. 28, 2011) – The nomination of Ken Adams to head New York’s Empire State Development Corp., the agency in charge of attracting new business, is a positive sign that New York state is serious about repairing its business climate, the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation said Friday.
Mike Oates, president and CEO at HVEDC, said that Adams has a proven record of navigating the needs of private business where they intersect with government. Adams will be a very strong advocate for business in Albany, Oates said.
“Ken Adams brings a keen understanding not only of today’s critical business issues but of the key issues in New York state,” Oates said. “I’m also encouraged because this is a sign of Governor Cuomo’s real commitment to make improvements that will enhance job retention and job growth. I know Ken and his record; he will be tremendously effective from Day 1.”
