HVEDC CEO Honored as SUNY New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame Business Person of the Year

GOSHEN, N.Y. (March 15, 2017) – Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation (HVEDC) has announced that President and CEO Laurence P. Gottlieb has been named by the SUNY New Paltz School of Business as its 2017 Business Person of the Year Hall of Fame inductee.

The Business School Hall of Fame recognizes the business achievements of outstanding community members, as well as students and faculty. The 2017 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, April 19, at the Grandview in Poughkeepsie, beginning at 5 p.m.

As the CEO of HVEDC, Gottlieb remains a driving force in supporting and growing local Hudson Valley businesses in multiple sectors including food & beverage, life sciences, health care and 3D printing technology. Joining HVEDC in early 2013, Gottlieb brought more than 25 years of global business, non-profit and government leadership experience. He is the co-founder of NY BioHud Valley, Hudson Valley Food and Beverage Alliance, Hudson Valley 3D Printing (HV3D), Hudson Valley EDs & MEDs, Hudson Valley PLAY and Hudson Valley Talent. He is also a board member of the New York State Economic Development Council and SUNY New Paltz School of Business Food Industry Council, as well as a past board member of Gov. Cuomo’s Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Council and New York BIO. Gottlieb is also responsible for spearheading the effort to open NY Medical College’s BioInc@NYMC life sciences incubator, and launching the nation’s first MakerBot 3D Printing Innovation Center and Stratasys SMART Lab on the campus of SUNY New Paltz.

SUNY New Paltz’s School of Business is an accredited member of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). It offers degrees in accounting, business, finance, international business, marketing and management, as well as MBA programs.
