NEW WINDSOR, N.Y. (June 15, 2012) – The Hudson Valley Economic Development Corp. (HVEDC) and advertising and public relations firm Focus Media recently received three marketing awards from the New York State Economic Development Council (NYSEDC) at its annual conference.
HVEDC and Goshen-based Focus Media received a Certificate of Excellence for Printed and Electronic Newsletter, a Certificate of Excellence for Website (for the ChooseNYHudsonValley.com campaign) and an Honorable Mention for Annual Report. The annual awards recognize achievements in business attraction marketing among the state’s leading economic development organizations.

HVEDC’s newsletter, “Smart Locations,” is a quarterly publication that features news and updates from the organization’s members, as well as happenings in the world of business in the Hudson Valley region as a whole. The organization’s annual report has also stood out for its crisp design and engaging theme: “Leading the Economic Revolution.”
The Choose NY Hudson Valley campaign is a major external marketing program highlighting the benefits of business relocation to the Hudson Valley. Its goal is to convince job creators to open new facilities in the region because of its business-friendly environment and well-educated and highly skilled workforce.

In addition to the awards won at the NYSEDC event, HVEDC and Focus Media have won another award for the Choose New York Hudson Valley marketing campaign, earning a Telly Award in the Internet/Online Commercial Campaign for Branding category. This category targets marketing campaigns that utilize the Internet for branding and outreach efforts in the form of multimedia. Focus Media worked with its partner, the Ellenbogen Group, to develop the video for the campaign. The Telly Awards honor the very best film and video productions, groundbreaking online video content and outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs from across the country. Entries are judged by a distinguished panel of past top award winners – the Silver Telly Council. Judges evaluate entries to recognize distinction in creative work and score entries on a performance scale.
