NEW company begins marketing efforts at NYC travel show, securing new and exciting sites
Liberty, N.Y. – March 13, 2012 – With the summer months upon us and tourism on the rise, regional entrepreneurs – The Vallone Family – announce the launch of their latest ambition, Big V Tours.
Big V Tours will offer motor coach tour services with a focus on multi-faceted journeys that include tourism, dining and activities. A specialized tour guide will accompany each trip as travelers visit sites such as Bethel Woods Center for the Arts – the original site of Woodstock, Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame and the 9/11 Memorial in New York City.
“There are so many attractions here in the Hudson Valley and Catskills – historic sites, art galleries, entertainment venues and more,” said Vallone. “Additionally, the recent Concord property redevelopment plan has infused the community and Big V Tours with great anticipation and enthusiasm for the tourism industry. Many of our outlying regions have much to offer, as well. New York City, Binghamton, Albany and other surrounding areas provide for great experiences for our residents.”
The tour operator will kick off its inaugural season with Peace, Love, and FUN!…a trip to The Museum at Bethel Woods, a captivating multi-media experience that combines film, interactive displays, and artifacts to tell the story of the sixties and the unique experience of the 1969 Woodstock festival. This will include a “behind the scenes” tour of Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, a buffet lunch with a special guest speaker with insider Woodstock details, and a photo stop at the historic Woodstock monument located at the site of the stage area.
Big V Tours’ theory is “More is Better” and each tour will have multiple elements. The Peace, Love and FUN tour will begin with a taste from a local bakery for coffee and pastry, and will conclude with a visit to the Dancing Cat Saloon in Bethel, a local distillery that creates Peace Vodka, for a tour, tasting, and a decadent truffle made with Peace.

Big V Tours has already begun reaching out to businesses around New York State to strengthen its inaugural season tours, including spending a recent weekend in New York City at the New York Times Travel Show, known as one of the largest in the country. Future tours will include wineries, breweries, restaurants, and more historic sites.
The Vallone Family also owns Rolling V Bus Corp. and Gershowitz Transportation, the region’s premier school bus transportation companies. A commitment to the community and area businesses has always been an integral part of The Vallone’s business plans.
Vallone said, “Helping grow and showcase the region is in everyone’s best interest. Big V Tours is working hard to advance this initiative, one currently underway in Sullivan County that has been facilitated by Sullivan County Government and the Sullivan County Visitors Association. We look forward to partnering with tourism agencies, wineries, restaurants, historic sites and other businesses looking to attract new patrons from the Hudson Valley and beyond.”
