Middletown, NY – Greater Hudson Valley Health System Medical Group Urgent Care, part of the Greater Hudson Valley Health System (GHVHS), with locations in Middletown and Monticello, has received the highest level of distinction for urgent care centers – accreditation through the Urgent Care Association (UCA). Both Orange Regional and Catskill Regional Urgent Care facilities have met all of the Urgent Care Association’s established standards and criteria for quality of patient care, safety and scope of services.
“Our commitment to providing the best quality healthcare to every patient means being prepared to treat their needs in a timely and appropriate manner,” said Dr. Gerard Galarneau, President of the Greater Hudson Valley Health System Medical Group. “Our Urgent Care facilities deliver on that commitment by offering expert assessment and treatment every day of the week, morning until night. And, in both Orange and Sullivan Counties, our Urgent Care facilities give patients the peace of mind of knowing their walk-in visits can be backed by the full continuum of care afforded by our Medical Groups and Medical Centers.”
Urgent Care fills a gap between Primary Care and the Hospitals’ Emergency Departments, offering increased convenience and cost savings. With these accreditations, Catskill Regional and Orange Regional Urgent Care facilities, along with the UCA, demonstrate their shared commitment toward providing patients with access to quality care of the highest level.
“Every staff member, nurse and doctor who make up our expert Urgent Care teams at Orange Regional and Catskill Regional contributed toward this important recognition,” said Dr. Rona Heublum-Colton, Medical Director of Urgent Care for Greater Hudson Valley Health System. “Our Monticello office – which has only been open less than two years – and our office on the Main Campus of Orange Regional Medical Center have established themselves as trusted partners in supporting the health of the communities we serve.”
“We could not be more proud of the tremendous work that our Urgent Care facilities have done to achieve these key accreditations by such a widely respected agency as the UCA,: said Jerry Dunlavey, Executive Director of GHVHS Medical Group. “It is further evidence of the exceptional care that our expert team of healthcare professionals provide to our patients each and every day.”
As the healthcare environment continues to change, it is becoming more important for patients to understand their treatment options. Urgent Care is a convenient and viable option for medical conditions that cannot wait for a scheduled appointment with a primary care physician. Catskill Regional Medical Group’s Urgent Care office, located at 38 Concord Road in Monticello, and Orange Regional Medical Group’s Urgent Care office, located at Orange Regional Medical Center’s Outpatient Building – 707 East Main Street in Middletown – accept unscheduled, walk-in patients from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., seven days a week.
With this certification, the Catskill Regional Medical Group and Orange Regional Medical Group Urgent Care staff demonstrate their commitment to providing patients with access to appropriate levels of care. When a medical condition cannot be handled by a patient’s regular doctor, such as unexpected cuts, burns, sprains or fractures that do not require a visit to the emergency department, Orange Regional Medical Group and Catskill Regional Medical Group Urgent Care are equipped with x-ray and laboratory services, and licensed providers are always available to perform minor procedures like casting and suturing.
