Woodbury Common Premium Outlets
Focus Media was retained by Simon Property Group (NYSE: SPG) on a special-project basis to manage public issues of the company’s $150+ million expansion and renovation of Woodbury Common Premium Outlets in Orange County. The project, approved by government and planning agencies, was completed in 2017, enhancing Woodbury Common Premium Outlets’ reputation as a local, regional and international attraction and shopping experience. In addition, Simon retained Focus Media as its Agency of Record for Woodbury Common Premium Outlets’ public relations in 2015.
Resorts World Catskills
Focus Media provided government relations and public relations services for Resorts World Catskills during the complex and competitive process to secure an upstate New York gaming license. Focus Media’s expertise and collaboration were key factors in Resorts World Catskills being granted one of only three licenses authorized by the state. Resorts World Catskills opened in February 2018. It has spurred historic economic development, including a tidal wave of new jobs, and was an economic multiplier for local businesses that positively impacted the region’s economy.
Resorts World Catskills Executive Vice President Charles Degliomini said during the campaign, “There were 11 casino applications in the Hudson Valley/Catskills Region, put forth by the biggest gaming companies in the world. Josh Sommers and his team at Focus Media were an integral part of Resorts World Catskills being the only casino project selected for our region.”
LEGOLAND® New York Resort
Focus Media was retained by LEGOLAND® New York/Merlin Entertainment to support the multi-layered effort to bring a world-class theme park to Orange County, N.Y. This project – promising economic firepower through jobs and tax revenues while being a substantial source of business for local companies – was approved. Open since 2021, LEGOLAND® New York is one of the region’s largest projects both financially and in size. A wholesome family attraction, it has become one of New York State’s most appealing tourist destinations.
