Goshen Town Board approves amendments to town’s comprehensive plan and adopts Local Law No. 5

Plans continue in the approval process for LEGOLAND® New York

GOSHEN, N.Y. (Sept. 14, 2017) – The approval process for LEGOLAND® New York continues after the Goshen Town Board’s approval of amendments to the town’s comprehensive plan and zoning law in a 4-1 vote tonight, Sept. 14 following a public hearing.

The Town Board’s vote to approve the comprehensive plan and zoning amendments is an important step in the Park’s approval process.

“We believe the town board’s decision is recognition of the tremendous benefits that LEGOLAND New York will have in Goshen and the surrounding Orange County communities,” said John Ussher, senior divisional director, LEGOLAND Development. “Both the Goshen Planning Board and Goshen Town Board have done a tremendous amount of meticulous work and we believe they truly understand the merits of this project. Their due diligence is commendable. We look forward to continuing this process and hope to be able to bring LEGOLAND New York to Goshen subject to the other necessary approvals being obtained.”

“We are thrilled to be moving forward with the next steps for the LEGOLAND New York project,” added Phil Royle, LEGOLAND New York’s head of project & community relations. “If successful, we hope that LEGOLAND New York will become a valued and trusted neighbor to people who live and work here and who own a business here in the future. We are committed to making a long-lasting, positive difference in Goshen and surrounding communities.”
