Tuxedo Union Free School District
TUXEDO, N.Y. (March 28, 2016) —- The Class of 2016 valedictorian and salutatorian have been named at George F. Baker High School in Tuxedo.
Valedictorian Madeline Doyle has a 98.52 GPA. She is president of the school’s chapter of the National Honor Society, co-president of the student and senior councils, math team, captain of both the varsity volleyball and softball teams and a member of the math team and drama club.
Doyle has taken nine AP classes during her high school career and will attend Tufts University this fall.
Salutatorian Isabel Miñano has a 96.44 GPA. She is captain of the varsity volleyball and varsity basketball teams and co-president of the student and senior councils. She is also vice president of administration and treasurer of the school’s chapter of the National Honor Society
Miñano also taken seven AP classes during her high school career and will attend Fordham University this fall.
“Madeline and Isabel’s academic successes demonstrate the scholastic rigor at our high school,” said Jason Schrammel, the school’s K-12 principal. “Like other students at Baker, they also recognize the importance of community service along with a blending of social and sports activities. We expect to hear great things about them as they move onto the next phases of their education and lives.”
