Bank’s employee cookbook fundraiser will help provide meals to local families in need
Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y. (December 18, 2017) – In the midst of the holiday season, Walden Savings Bank will sell cookbooks in an effort to raise funds to help provide meals to local families in need. The cookbook is a combined effort incorporating 145 recipes submitted by Walden Savings Bank employees to commemorate the Bank’s 145th anniversary. Proceeds from the cookbook sale will benefit the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley.
The cookbooks are available for $10 each and will be on sale at each of the Bank’s eleven branches throughout Orange and Ulster counties.
“The Holiday season is an important time to give back, and we are thrilled to be able to contribute to such an important cause,” said Walden Savings Bank President and CEO Derrik Wynkoop. “Our Walden Savings Bank family has come together to share their favorite recipes with our community. In turn, we hope to assist many local families in need.”
The Food Bank of the Hudson Valley is dedicated to alleviating hunger while preventing the waste of wholesome food. Working in partnership with the food industry, the Food Bank collects donated food and distributes it to charitable agencies feeding hungry people in a six-county region. Last year, the Food Bank provided more than 15 million pounds of food to 400 member agencies in Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan and Ulster counties.
“A cookbook makes an excellent holiday gift, and this gift is even more extraordinary because it will help feed our hungry neighbors,” said Food Bank of the Hudson Valley Director Paul A. Stermer. “We are grateful for the support of both Walden Savings Bank and our community as we work to provide nutritious food all year long to food pantries and other charitable agencies in the Hudson Valley.”
