GOSHEN, N.Y. (August 15, 2017) – Jason Upchurch, a director at Focus Media, Inc., will be performing at the 7th Annual FDNY 343 Ride this month with his New York Hall of Fame bandmates in the Dan Brother Band.
The FDNY 343 Ride is a two-day memorial bike ride organized by members of Engine 50, Ladder 19 and Battalion 26 of the FDNY to honor and remember the 343 members of the FDNY who perished in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Riders depart from the Freedom Tower in lower Manhattan and pedal to Montauk Point Lighthouse on Long Island over the course of two days.
All FDNY 343 Ride proceeds go directly to help support those who have sustained severe, life-altering injuries while serving in the United States military. To date, the Ride has raised and distributed more than $600,000.
“Providing our veterans with the post-war care they deserve should always be a national priority,” said Upchurch. “Our friends at the FDNY do so much toward this cause through the 343 Ride; I’m just proud to be in league with that kind of gratitude, generosity and kindness.”

The Dan Brother Band, with whom Upchurch plays bass guitar, was invited to participate in the inaugural Ride in 2011 and has been traveling with the firefighters to support and entertain at the closing ceremonies every year since. The band has made five trips to Montauk, as well as two Rides that departed Manhattan and stretched to Arlington, VA.
