Orange County, N.Y. draws day trippers and weekenders for festival fun.
ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. (August 18, 2017) – Autumn means festival season in the Hudson Valley. There’s no better way to enjoy the perfect weather and vibrant colors of fall than by heading to one of these family friendly outdoor events. From live music and craft vendors to local produce and games, each festival offers a unique atmosphere and schedule of events.
“Pumpkin and apple are not only part of our autumn harvest, they’re just 2 of the colors in our beautiful fall foliage,” said Orange County Tourism Director Susan Hawvermale. “With dozens of fall festivals throughout the season, there are so many fun ways to celebrate the changing of the leaves.”
Here’s a sampling of fall festivals in Orange County to add to your calendar:
Pine Bush Harvest Festival – Saturday, September 16, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.: Celebrate the harvest in the hamlet of Pine Bush, adjacent to the Shawangunk Mountains. New York Renaissance Faire – Saturday-Sunday and Labor Day, August 5-October 1, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.: Elizabethan England brought to life in Tuxedo’s Sterling Forest. 300 costumed characters, dancers, strolling minstrels and storytellers in a Tudor style marketplace of period crafts and games. Fiesta Latina – Saturday, September 16, 10:00 a.m.to 6:00 p.m.: Feel the warmth of Latin culture as live salsa music fills the air. Latin icon and recording artists “Cuboricua” will be performing. Warwick Applefest – Sunday, October 1, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.: Visit the historic village of Warwick and shop at hundreds of craft and food vendors. Sit and relax while listening to music and entertainment all day on several stages.
