GOSHEN, N.Y. (Sept. 26, 2012) – Elant, the Hudson Valley’s premier provider of senior health care and housing solutions, brought residents from its Glen Arden and Fishkill campuses on a special outing to the Air National Guard Base at Stewart Airport on Monday, Sept. 17.
About a dozen residents, their family members and Elant staff were the guests of the Air National Guard Base, where they learned about C-17 transport planes (the only Stewart-based 105th Airlift Wing of the New York Air National Guard that flies on missions), what they do at the base and took a tour of the facility. Additionally, residents were brought out to the “no-hat zone” on the tarmac and were able to board the new C-17 aircraft, where the pilot and crew members explained the plane’s features and functions.
“This outing was just another example of the excellent opportunities and quality of life activities that Elant provides to its residents,” said Melissa McCoy, Elant’s Director of Corporate Initiatives. “The residents all had a wonderful time, and we’re happy to be able to make opportunities like this one possible, thanks to our fellow community organizations such as the Air National Guard.”
