Goshen, N.Y. (August 14, 2013) – Elant, the Hudson Valley’s premier provider of senior health and housing solutions, is pleased to announce that Nancy Calhoun has been elected to the Board of Directors.
Calhoun served for 22 years as a New York State Assemblywoman, where she was a member of the Insurance, Labor and Real Property Committees. Calhoun also served as a member of the Republican Leadership for more than 12 years.
“I am thrilled to join the Elant Board of Directors, as the organization is essential to the community and provides an exceptional level of care,” said Calhoun. “I look forward to the opportunity to share my leadership experience for the good of the community and Elant.”
Calhoun began her career as tax collector and internal auditor for the Washingtonville School District, later serving as Deputy Supervisor and Budget Officer for the Town of Blooming Grove. She was elected Supervisor of the Town of Blooming Grove in 1986 and served until 1990. Calhoun served on the Executive Committee of the National Conference of Insurance Regulators for 15 years and as Secretary of the American-Irish Legislators for 22 years.

Calhoun attended Empire State College and majored in business and public administration.
