ELANT BOARD OF DIRECTORS WELCOMES DANIEL O’BRIEN

Goshen, N.Y. (August 1, 2013) — Elant, the Hudson Valley’s leading provider of senior health and housing solutions, has announced that Daniel O’Brien will join its Board of Directors.

O’Brien has years of experience in both private and public-sector economic development. For more than two decades, he has held various executive positions at the Orange County Chamber of Commerce, and most recently served as the organization’s Senior Vice President of Membership Development and Services.

“This is a great opportunity to leverage my business experience and community contacts to help Elant strengthen its presence,” said O’Brien. “I look forward to working with the team.”

After completing his service in the U.S. Navy in 1964, O’Brien began his professional career working at his grandfather’s printing company, JJ O’Brien & Son. He and his wife Edith moved to Goshen from New York City in 1971. O’Brien bought his grandfather’s business in 1975, and continued to serve as president of JJ O’Brien & Son until 1991, when he was named Director of Membership of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce in Middletown.

O’Brien went on to serve as the Membership Director at the Chamber of Commerce in Newburgh until he was appointed Vice President of Membership Development in 1997. He held that position for 10 years before being appointed Senior Vice President of Membership Development and Services in 2007.

“Mr. O’Brien is a wonderful addition to Elant’s Board of Directors,” said Donna Cornell, Board Chair. “His many years of service to the Orange County Chamber of Commerce and his vast knowledge of economic development will be of great service to our organization.”

He previously received the Leadership Orange Award in 2011, the Salvation Army Outstanding Community Service Award in 2007, the Goshen Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004 and the Goshen Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year Award.
