Dr. Ravunniarath is dual board certified in Geriatric Medicine, Internal Medicine
NEWBURGH, N.Y. (Jan. 4, 2011) – Elant, Inc. announced today the appointment of Dr. Jaikumar Ravunniarath as Medical Director of the Elant at Newburgh nursing home.
Dr. Ravunniarath, affectionately known as “Dr. Jai,” will direct all medical care at the 190-bed facility and supervise a nurse practitioner. He joins the Elant Medical practice, a dynamic team of staff physicians and nurse practitioners dedicated to treating patients in the Elant network of care centers.
“Dr. Ravunniarath is a terrific addition to our medical staff and brings a wealth of experience to our Newburgh facility,” said Dr. Sukhdeep Kaur, the Vice President of Medical Affairs at Elant. “We are committed to providing the highest level of care to our residents and Dr. Ravunniarath’s work in long-term care has been noteworthy.”
Dr. Jai is dual board certified in Geriatric Medicine and Internal Medicine, completing his residencies respectively at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center in the Bronx and Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. He has trained in India, New Zealand and the United States.

Dr. Jai comes to Elant from Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck, N.Y. where he served as a Geriatrician. Prior to his work at Ferncliff, Dr. Jai was the Attending Physician and President of the Medical Staff at Margaretville (N.Y.) Memorial Hospital.
