Goshen, N.Y. (April 1, 2014) – Glen Arden, Elant’s Continuing Care Retirement Community, will host its next “Dinner with the Doctor” lecture and dinner on Thursday, April 10 at 6 p.m. in Glen Arden’s Rhinebeck Room. Dr. Bruce Ellsweig, the Greater Hudson Valley Health System’s Director of Primary Care and Community Medicine, will provide an overview of palliative care.
A graduate of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pa., Dr. Ellsweig completed his residency in Family Medicine at York Hospital in York, Pa., and is Board-certified in Family Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Dr. Ellsweig is a Fellow of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice (AAFP). Additionally, he is a member of the Orange County Department of Health Healthy Orange Advisory Committee and a member of the Women’s and Children’s Advisory Board of Orange County.
“It’s important to offer patients palliative care as a multidisciplinary approach that maintains their comfort and dignity, while affording them the opportunity to end aggressive treatments and testing,” said Maureen Torelli, Vice President and Executive Director of Glen Arden. “Providing access to quality care on a patient’s terms is our focus.”
The event is free, however reservations are required. To make a reservation or for more information regarding the “Dinner with the Doctor” lecture series, contact Maureen Torelli at 845-360-1424 or e-mail mtorelli@elant.org
