More than $20,000 was presented to the town board from local summer camps.
LIBERTY, N.Y. (September 8, 2016) – At a meeting of the Liberty Town Board held on August 29, the town was presented with donations totaling $20,750 from an association of summer camps located in the municipality. This is the third year that donations have been received. In past years, donations from the camps have funded community events and improvements at the town’s parks.
“These generous donations are used for projects and events that would otherwise go unfunded,” said Liberty Town Supervisor Charlie Barbuti. “This past July 4th, a portion of last year’s donation was spent on a stunning fireworks display thoroughly enjoyed by the entire community. Funds have also been spent on much needed improvements to Gozza field at Walnut Mountain Park.”
Donations were received from:
• Bais Yaakov Council (Camp Bais Yaakov)
• Camp Adas Yereim
• Yeshiva Kavunas Halev
• Camp Hasc Operations
• Camp Gan Israel INC
• Camp Yeshiva Ch’San Sofer
• Baiseinu
• Machne Gila
• Congregation Machne Shalva
• Agudath Israel of America (Camp Bnoseinu &Camp Chayl Miriam)
With this year’s donation, the board intends to continue supporting the fireworks display, more projects at Hanofee and Walnut Mt. Parks, and other worthy plans.
