CROWNE PLAZA SUFFERN APPOINTS NEW SALES MANAGER

SUFFERN, N.Y. (March 28, 2012) – Crowne Plaza Suffern is proud to announce the appointment of Brianne O’Connell to Sales Manager. O’Connell comes from a diverse professional background in the tourism and hospitality industry.

“I’m pleased to have her as part of the Sales Team,” said Kevin Wolford, general manager at Crowne Plaza Suffern. “Her knowledge of the market will bring great strength to the success of the hotel.”

O’Connell, born and raised in Rockland County, has been in the IHG family of hotels since 2005. She came to Crowne Plaza Suffern from the Holiday Inn at Orangeburg, N.Y., where she worked in the hotel restaurant.

O’Connell first began her hospitality career as a Travel Assistant in the European International market for Mercedes Benz in 2006. In 2008, she was appointed Sales Coordinator at Courtyard by Marriot in Montvale, N.J., and was promoted in 2010 within the Island Hospitality Management ranks to Sales Manager at the Residence Inn, Saddle River, N.J.

O’Connell holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from St. Thomas Aquinas College in Orangeburg, N.Y.

Crowne Plaza Suffern also recently announced the hiring of Will Adamo as Director of Sales. Adamo, of Ridgefield, N.J., came to Crowne Plaza Suffern from a career with Interstate Hotels & Resorts, the management company of Sheraton Mahwah Hotel. He started with Interstate in 1995 and joined the management team at Sheraton Mahwah in June 2003.

Prior to joining the Sheraton in Mahwah, Adamo held the same position at the Sheraton Anchorage Hotel in Anchorage, Ala. He has also worked in Durham, N.C., and Lebanon, N.H., where he held a seat on the Board of Directors for the Greater Lebanon Chamber of Commerce.

Adamo carries a Bachelor of Arts in Hotel Restaurant Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is a current member of numerous business organizations, including Global Travel Organization, Meeting Professional International and Rockland Business Association.
