NEWBURGH, N.Y. (September 6, 2012) – The Purple Heart Hall of Honor, Inc. Board of Directors has opened an administrative office at 330 Meadow Avenue in Newburgh, thanks to the generosity of the Construction Contractors Association (CCA) of the Hudson Valley.
“We are grateful to have such a great space with convenient access to our major highways,” said Andy Komonchak, Executive Director of the organization which supports the mission of the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor. “It gives us a base of operations as well as an association with an important, community-minded organization like the CCA.”
The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor, located in New Windsor, N.Y., commemorates the extraordinary sacrifices of America’s servicemen and servicewomen who were killed or wounded in combat. The mission of the Hall of Honor is to collect and preserve the stories of Purple Heart recipients from all branches of service and across generations, to ensure that all recipients are represented. The 7,500 square foot facility offers visitors an incredible journey through military history and provides veterans with the opportunity to share their stories and reminders of human sacrifice and the cost of freedom.
CCA is a 50-year-old trade association of commercial and industrial building contractors and construction support services in the Hudson Valley.
“CCA was proud to deepen our commitment to the Purple Heart Hall of Honor with this donation of office space,” said Alan Seidman, CCA Executive Director. “We are committed to supporting members of our armed forces. It is gratifying to have the opportunity to give back to those who give so much.”
