Celebrate St. Patrick in Orange County, N.Y.

ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. (March 9, 2022) – When St. Patrick’s Day comes around, there’s a bit of Irish in everyone, and Orange County, N.Y., is the perfect place to celebrate it with a parade, hearty Irish fare and spirits, activities for children and even a search for a pot of gold.

“It’s time to put on the green and enjoy the Irish spirit in Orange County, N.Y.!” said Amanda Dana, Director of Orange County Tourism & Film. “With great food, kid-friendly events, and Irish whiskeys for the adults, Orange County brings the Emerald Isle straight to you.”

Some St. Patrick activities include:

St. Patrick’s Parade, Greenwood Lake, Sunday, March 13, 2 p.m.: Come out to cheer for the 45th Annual Mid-Hudson St. Patrick’s Parade, held in beautiful Greenwood Lake. Thomas Mulcahy will be the Grand Marshall. READ MORE

Kids Night Out – Green Night, YMCA of Middletown, 6 Liberty Street, Middletown. Friday, March 11, 6:30 p.m. – 9 p.m.: Dress in green and join the YMCA for a night of fun St. Patrick’s Day themed activities at The Center for Youth Programs. Kids Night Out is open to children age 3 to those in fifth grade. Children must be potty-trained. READ MORE

Celtic Angels concert, Historic Paramount Theatre, 17 South Street, Middletown. Saturday, March 12, 3 p.m. The energetic, exciting young stars of Celtic Angels bring a joyous celebration of everything Irish to American soil. The Celtic Knight Dancers, featuring two former lead dancers of Riverdance, perform with athletic precision. The Trinity Band Ensemble of Dublin round out the show with flawless interpretations of authentic Irish Trad instrumentals. READ MORE

Pot of Gold Hunt, YMCA of Middletown, 81 Highland Ave., Middletown, Saturday, March 12, 6:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. Don your best green outfit and join the annual Pot of Gold Hunt presented by Beat the Streets. Prizes will be awarded to those who collect the most gold coins and even bigger prizes go to whoever finds the leprechauns’ Pot of Gold! Don’t forget to bring money for snacks and drinks. BTS is open to the public for youth ages 10-16. Entry is $3 regardless of membership status. All participants must wear a mask regardless of vaccination status during the program. READ MORE

St. Patrick’s Day Dinner, River Grill, 40 Front Street, Newburgh, Thursday, March 17, Dinner features traditional Irish fare and spirits including potato leek soup, fish and chips, corned beef and cabbage, shepherd’s pie, Jameson crème brulee and more. READ MORE

St. Patrick’s Day Dinner, Pine Island Tap House, 682 County Road 1, Pine Island, Thursday, March 17, 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.: The Tap House will celebrate with excellent Irish Ales and Stouts. The famous Angus 83 will be there from 2 p.m. until closing serving traditional corned beef and cabbage plates and their famous homemade soda bread. Irish pub music will play and $5 pints of green beer will be served all day. READ MORE

Guided Irish Whiskey Tasting and Pairing, City Winery, 23 Factory Street, Montgomery, Thursday, March 17, 5:45 p.m:. Taste your way through Irish whiskeys to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!
