A day of education to inform expecting families of various helpful programs
April 9 – Harris, N.Y. – Catskill Regional Medical Center (CRMC) will host its Birth & Baby Fest, on Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Catskill Regional Medical Center, 68 Harris-Bushville Road, in Harris, NY.
The event is free for all pregnant women and new parents and is sponsored by Maternal Infant Services Inc. (MISN), the Sullivan County Breastfeeding Coalition and CRMC. It provides a day of education to inform expecting families of various helpful programs and support in Sullivan County.
Attendees will be provided with an information card listing the participating organizations which will include CRMC, Catskill Regional Medical Group (CRMG), MISN, Sullivan County Public Health, Women, Infants & Children (WIC), Healthy Families, Independent Living, Fidelis Care, Hudson River Health Care, Hudson Valley Community Services and the Sullivan County Child Care Council. Other providers and services participating at the Birth & Baby Fest include Doula for Moms, New York Babywearing and Kathleen A. Christie, LCSW.
Throughout the event, brief educational mini-workshops will be presented on topics such as nutrition, breastfeeding, car seat safety and safe sleep. Catskill Regional Medical Group’s physicians for newborn to adult care and CRMG Pediatric Hospitalist and Medical Director of Pediatrics for the Greater Hudson valley Health System, Anjana Poonthota, will be available to speak with participants.
There will be raffle prizes and diaper giveaways, free gifts for all pregnant women and tours of the CRMC Birthing Center will be available.
