CATSKILL REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER OPENS UROLOGY PRACTICE

April 3, 2013 – Harris, N.Y.Catskill Regional Medical Center (CRMC) announced today that Chief Medical Officer Dr. Gerard Galarneau will bring his urology practice to CRMC.

A Board-certified urologist, Dr. Galarneau is a talented clinician and surgeon with extensive training in urological conditions. A graduate of the State University of New York at Binghamton, he received his medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla. He completed his urology residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, where he was presented with the Norman E. Stoller M.D. Award for demonstrating devotion and dedication to patient care, and for proficiency in urology.

“Dr. Galarneau has proven to be an exceptional addition to our Executive Team and we welcome the addition of his urology practice,” said Fred Kuriger, CRMC’s CEO. “We are excited to expand our services and to be able to further serve the members of our community.”

“Since accepting the position of Chief Medical Officer at CRMC in January of this year, my love for urology and my patients has not changed, and I look forward to building this practice,” said Dr. Galarneau. “I came to CRMC to bring state-of-the-art medical care to the residents of Sullivan County and its surrounding communities. What better way to do this than to start a urology practice at CRMC.”

The urology practice specializes in the treatment of incontinence, voiding, erectile dysfunction and kidney stones. Dr. Galarneau also has expertise in the treatment of all urologic cancers including prostate, kidney, bladder and testicular cancer. The office, located at the main Harris campus on the 3rd floor of the Ambulatory Services Building, is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and appointments can be made by calling 845-794-0996.
