July 2, 2013 – Harris, N.Y. – Catskill Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Gerard Galarneau, MD as the new Chief Executive Officer. Additionally, Dr. Galarneau serves as the Chief Medical Officer for Catskill Regional.
Dr. Galarneau has a strong and accomplished leadership history with the Greater Hudson Valley Health System, comprised of Catskill Regional Medical Center and Orange Regional Medical Center. Prior to his CMO position at Catskill Regional in January 2013, Dr. Galarneau held the positions of Chairman of the Institutional Review Board and Bioethics Committee, Chairman of the Medical Executive Committee and Chairman of the Department at Urology while on staff at Orange Regional. Dr. Galarneau’s urology practice also opened at Catskill Regional in April.

Dr. Galarneau is Board-certified in urology and has extensive training in urological conditions. He received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton and earned his medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla. Dr. Galarneau completed his residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York where he served as Chief Resident and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Medical Management at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
