CATSKILL REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER ANNOUNCES OSTEOPOROSIS SUPPORT GROUP SESSION

Next session slated for September 20

August 30, 2012 – Harris, N.Y. – Catskill Regional Medical Center (CRMC) announced today its next free osteoporosis support group session will be held on September 20 at 2 p.m. in Boardroom A of CRMC’s main Harris campus. The group sessions, held quarterly, offer advice, encouragement and education to osteoporosis patients.

Osteoporosis causes bones to become thin, weak and break easily. Called the “silent disease” because it has no specific symptoms, osteoporosis affects people of all ages and is difficult to diagnose.

CRMC’s osteoporosis support group provides patients with the latest information about the disease and provides a unique forum for patients to discuss strategies to manage osteoporosis. The support group is led by one of CRMC’s highly experienced nurse practitioners, and complements the wide range of services and advanced technology that CRMC offers Sullivan County and its surrounding communities.

Diane Primevera, FNP, leads the group. She has been with CRMC since 1977 and is a nurse practitioner at the Women’s Health Center, specializing in primary care and women’s health. She is also a member of the National Osteoporosis Foundation.

Registration is not required. For more information, call the Women’s Health Center at 845-794-7897.

A member of the Greater Hudson Valley Health System, Catskill Regional Medical Center is dedicated to providing the highest quality health care to residents in the Sullivan County region. For more information, call 845-794-3300 or visit www.crmcny.org.
