August 24, 2012 – Harris, N.Y. – Catskill Regional Medical Center (CRMC) recently announced the appointment of Fred Conklin, RN, CPHQ, as its new Director of Quality Services.
Conklin will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Performance Improvement Program at CRMC. He will have oversight for hospital-wide performance improvement activities including quality, value-based purchasing programs, patient safety and regulatory compliance.
Conklin previously served as Manager of Accreditation and Regulatory Compliance at Orange Regional Medical Center. He joined Orange Regional Medical Center in 2006 as the Quality Resources Clinical Project Coordinator. Conklin has taken on progressive responsibilities and roles at Orange Regional, including Manager of Guest Services and Manager of Patient Advocacy. Prior to joining Orange Regional, his positions at Newton Medical Center in Newton, N.J., included Staff RN, Administrative Shift Supervisor and Manager of the Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nursing Units.
Conklin holds an associate degree in nursing from Orange County Community College, and is currently enrolled at Devry University working toward a bachelor’s degree in nursing. He has achieved certifications in health care quality and medical surgical nursing.
