GOSHEN, N.Y.
(Sept. 21, 2011) – The Elant Foundation has named Michael E. Catania, Esq., to the foundation’s Review Committee for Scholarships and Circle of Excellence.
Catania is an associate with Tarshis, Catania, Liberth, Mahon & Milligram, PLLC, in Newburgh. He concentrates his practice on construction law, commercial litigation, municipal defense and general litigation.
Catania replaces David Kaufman on the committee. Catania’s great uncle, George W. Kohl, is the sponsor of one of the Elant Foundation’s scholarships. The George W. Kohl Scholarship Fund supports Elant employees across the network who are pursuing certificates and degrees to become a Certified Nursing Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse.
The Circle of Excellence quarterly award was established in July 2005 through the Elant Foundation with a gift made by Kaufman in memory of his late wife, Muriel Kaufman, for the outstanding care she received during her residency at Elant at Goshen.
“We are delighted to have Michael be a part of our Review Committee for Scholarships and the Circle of Excellence,” said Melissa McCoy, Director of Corporate Initiatives with the Elant Foundation. “Michael’s professional experience and his personal tie to the Elant Foundation through his great uncle will give him a very personal perspective of the giving that the foundation does and that will help our Review Committee.”
“It is an honor to be part of such a giving organization such as the Elant Foundation,” Catania said. “The foundation’s programs help advance the learning and skills of Elant professionals, which in turn helps make the lives of Elant and Glen Arden residents richer.”
