Siena College Research Institute Report to Spotlight Hudson Valley and N.Y. State Trends
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y., Feb. 5, 2024 – Hudson Valley and New York State economic trends and forecasts – derived from the insights of more than 500 upstate business leaders – will be detailed at the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corp.’s second annual CEO Survey Breakfast, sponsored by UHY, on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
The CEO Survey event, which is free to attend, is the only Hudson Valley presentation of the 17th Annual Upstate New York Business Leader Survey. The survey was conducted by the Siena College Research Institute (SCRI) in partnership with UHY, a prominent professional services firm, and the HVEDC.
The event is at the Henry A. Wallace Visitor and Education Center on the grounds of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum, 114 Estates Lane, off Route 9 in Hyde Park, N.Y.
Research Institute Director Dr. Don Levy will provide analysis of the state of business in the Hudson Valley and across New York, and the vital issues influencing companies’ ability to compete in today’s economy.
“Since 2007, SCRI has interviewed Upstate New York CEOs, who have shared their perception of economic conditions, their accurate forecasts for the year ahead as well as what challenges and opportunities they face,” Dr. Levy said. “Again this year, Siena interviewed business leaders across every industry sector, and on Feb. 13, we reveal their outlook as well as their intent to hire and what they see as the greatest assets as well as liabilities that affect companies in New York.”
“The Upstate Business Leader Survey has for 17 years provided unparalleled insight into the business year ahead. Additionally, the survey takes you into the thinking of people that lead New York’s companies, explaining how they see everything from the job readiness of our workforce, state government’s contribution to their success and the rate at which disruptive technologies are being adopted. The survey is a must-read as it provides a roadmap to doing business in Upstate New York,” Dr. Levy said.
“Trusted, in-depth data and analysis provide essential fuel for business innovation and success, and the Siena Business Leader Survey is exceptionally respected,” said A. Michael Bucci, Hudson Valley Managing Partner of UHY. “UHY is proud to co-sponsor this opportunity for executives to obtain meaningful, actionable intelligence that can inspire continued transformation.”
HVEDC President and CEO Michael Oates said, “This is a valuable opportunity for attendees to learn about timely, incisive economic trends and be equipped to anticipate what’s next. Siena’s Business Leader Survey is vital wealth of information on numerous fronts; the HVEDC uses the data to validate or identify opportunities in priority areas such as housing and the workforce.”
The program starts at 8 a.m. with registration and breakfast. Oates will then provide an introduction, followed by Dr. Levy’s presentation. A panel discussion, moderated by Bucci, follows. Panelists, in addition to Oates, are:
- Anthony Gioffre, Managing Partner, the law firm of Cuddy & Feder.
