Goshen, N.Y. (April 24, 2018) – The Burke Catholic Players captivated audiences with three performances of Disney’s The Little Mermaid on the stage at Burke Catholic High School this past weekend.
Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories and the classic animated film, Disney’s The Little Mermaid is a hauntingly beautiful love story for the ages. Directed by Pat Dillon, the musical featured irresistible songs, including “Under the Sea,” “Kiss the Girl” and “Part of Your World.”
“These dedicated students prepared for months for these performances,” said Burke Catholic music teacher Kristina Lattanzio. “I’m so proud of their efforts. They captured the essence of the story, and their singing and dancing was phenomenal!”
The cast included: Grace Yurchuk as Ariel; Johnny Drumgoole as Prince Eric; Julia Birmingham as Ursula; Kellyanne Murphy as Sebastian; Alex White as King Triton; Myriam Moise as Flounder; Jaycie Dick as Scuttle; Ian Ward as Grimsby; Lizette Wallace, Christina Pride, Larissa Nothnagle, Alley Redd, Julia Ward, and Ariana White as Mersisters; Erin Menkes as Flotsam; Lauren Staiger as Jetsam; Cecilio Echeandia, Christina Loffredo, Tiffany Ramos, Mariah Ross, and Joy Watson in various roles as chefs, sailors and maids; and Bridget Murphy, Katherine Murphy Megan Murphy, and Maddie Yurchuk as sea creatures.
