MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. (Feb. 16, 2017) – The Mount Vernon City School District will host its Barnes & Noble Book Fair from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 11. It will be located at the Barnes & Noble Eastchester, 680 Post Road, Scarsdale, NY 10583.
The event is part of the Superintendent’s Reading Challenge. The challenge has been very successful at encouraging students to read hundreds of thousands of books the past few years. A percentage of purchases will benefit the challenge.
The event will include:
Select performances from students in the school district.
A special book signing by noted author Kwame Alexander (4 p.m.).
The first 50 students will receive a free, signed copy of Alexander’s book The Crossover
Pictures taken with Curious George and OLI the Octupus, the school district’s reading mascot.
