Aurochemicals Attains Sales Record for Vanillin Natural and Achieves Additional Successes During 2022, Defying Turbulent Economy

WASHINGTONVILLE, N.Y. (April 14, 2023) – Aurochemicals, an internationally recognized manufacturer of natural aroma ingredients in the flavor and fragrance industry, has announced that 2022 sales of its top product, Vanillin Natural, achieved a revenue record. That performance was just one indicator of how Aurochemicals is thriving financially amid a turbulent economy, thanks to its strong self-capitalization, vast product line, ongoing innovation and market dominance internationally.

“Aurochemicals overcame in spite of the economy,” said Aurochemicals founder and CEO Deo Persaud. “Our team is steadfastly dedicated to creating the highest-quality flavor and fragrance ingredients as part of our ongoing focus on product development. Our goal to always provide exceptional quality and service for our customers, and embracing innovation to ensure continued success.”

Aurochemicals is the world’s leading producer of Vanillin Natural, a popular ingredient with vast and potential use that embodies the complex flavor notes of vanilla. Its wide scope of usage includes baked goods, ice cream, chocolate, dairy products and candy. Aurochemicals also holds a 99 percent purity rating in Vanillin Natural, exceeding requirements for both food and pharmaceutical grades. Aurochemicals’ biggest markets overall are the United States and Canada, but the privately held company with 20 employees serves clients around the world.

In the last three years, Aurochemicals’ commitment to innovation has substantially increased its already diverse product line. It now offers 600 products; before the coronavirus pandemic began in March 2020, there were 469.

Persaud said Aurochemicals is experiencing growing demand for damascenone, which produces an orange-like fragrance. He added that another new product, wood alcohol used to create strawberry flavoring, has proven to be a sales success in Asia.

Aurochemicals understands the vital importance of safety in its production processes, and is proud of its E-Excellent and 99% Safe Quality Food (SQF) rating – achieved in each of the last seven years – from the Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI). The certifications are held in high regard by food processors, retailers and food-service providers across the world.

Aurochemicals’ SQF certification is a testament to the system and processes the company uses in developing and manufacturing its products and the excellent safety and quality of the completed products. It also represents the extensive, robust and successful quality and safety procedures sustained by Aurochemicals during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Aurochemicals continually visions its future and conducts continuous research and development. Initiatives under consideration include:

  • Potentially expanding its facilities at its Washingtonville, N.Y., world headquarters.
  • Launching 200 new products, with the support of up to $1.5 million in research and development. “As fast as products are introduced, customers are eager to try them,” Persaud said.
  • Exploring uses for centrifugal molecular distillation, a high-speed process that separates molecules without damaging products via overheating.

Aurochemicals also has implemented dollar and time efficiencies to streamline operations and regulatory processes. These include:

  • A new templated organizational system for regulatory documents includes every document for every chemical. For example, it specifies every organic chemical and how each was created. “This converts what had been a lengthy task to 30 seconds,” Persaud said. “It saves time and improves efficiency across the board.”
  • Master color-coded sheets were created to manage the availability of chemicals and warehouse supplies. The system also includes color-coded pumps and storage racks, creating almost instant alignment of chemicals with the corresponding pumps.
  • Upgrading products’ packaging to boxes from drums, ensuring quality while simultaneously enhancing customer satisfaction, maneuverability and ease of use, in addition to significant cost savings

Aurochemicals and Persaud also are committed to supporting its community’s quality of life through philanthropy. As the coronavirus pandemic unfolded, and personal-protection equipment remained scarce, Aurochemicals provided a total of 150,000 surgical masks to Orange County, N.Y., for use by hospitals, long-term care facilities, police officers, emergency medical technicians, nursing homes and county departments. It also made donations to nearby Garnet Health Medical Center and organizations preferring to remain anonymous. For its selfless actions, Persaud and Aurochemicals were given the New York State Senate’s Empire Award, the legislative body’s highest honor for small businesses. The Empire Award is reserved for businesses and business owners who positively impact their communities by giving back. Elsewhere, Aurochemicals is considering a high school scholarship program for aspiring chemists.  Aurochemicals also has donated $10,000 to build a children’s park in Washingtonville, where its headquarters are located.

Moving forward, Persaud is confident that Aurochemicals’ strong self-capitalization – even amid turbulent financial markets globally – will seed its future.

“Overall, Aurochemicals continues to invest, invest and invest to open the doors to unlimited new frontiers,” Persaud said. “We consistently champion the vital importance of innovation – it’s the fuel for our success today and in the future.”
