MONROE, N.Y. (Aug. 2, 2017) — Alan Zuckerman, the co-president of Verticon Ltd., has assumed the additional title of chief executive officer for the respected full-service construction company based in Monroe, N.Y.
Zuckerman takes on the additional title after the retirement of his brother Irving Zuckerman. The Zuckerman brothers founded Verticon in 1993 and, together, served as co-presidents of Verticon for the last 24 years. Prior to Verticon, Alan and Irving were managing partners at Zuckerman Contractors, the family firm.

Since 1973, Alan Zuckerman has been a respected resource to the region’s top planners, as well as to several economic development organizations, to the communities in and around the mid-Hudson region.
Alan Zuckerman has worked in every aspect of the construction industry, from project conception all the way through to the issuance of certificates of occupancy. His extensive experience in the areas of deal structure, transaction analysis and banking presentations during the pre-construction phase has been the foundation that clients lean on during the sometimes daunting process of pre-construction.
Alan is heavily involved in Verticon’s construction management and general construction projects as well as the firm’s preeminent estimating team and value engineering services. In addition to these duties, he is responsible for updating the estimating and project management team on the use of Verticon’s project management systems so that all field superintendents are continually in the loop. Along with the estimating team, his most important role is providing conceptual and preliminary cost studies for clients, which is a strength of Verticon Construction Services.
Alan’s business, community and civic involvement includes: the Sullivan County Partnership: Board of Directors; chairman of the Sullivan County Shovel-ready Site Committee; a member of the Council of Industry, Alliance for Balanced Growth, the U.S. Building Council, and the Manufacturers Association of the Hudson Valley.
Verticon remains a four generation family business. Alan Zuckerman’s son Justin and Irving Zukerman’s daughter Ashley work for the firm.
Verticon’s recent projects include a new building for Cornerstone Family Health, a new building for Metallized Carbon Corp., a bus garage for the Wappingers School District, three new buildings for Mid-State Lumber and the North American Toner manufacturing headquarters for Konica Minolta.
Other clients include Satin Fine Foods, Sullivan County Community College, Horizon Medical Group and the South Orange Family YMCA.
