“Letters to Daddy” Premier Draws Over 200
October 7, 2011 (New Windsor, N.Y.) – Over 200 members of the Orange County community packed Orange Hall on the Middletown campus of SUNY Orange on October 6, 2011 for the premier of 4e Productions’ “Letters to Daddy: The Musical Key to Bully Free.”
“Letters to Daddy” is a musical stage production featuring 16 of Orange County’s most talented young performers ages 9 – 14. It focuses on empowering children through positive messages and songs in response to challenging social issues, like bullying. Ultimately, the mission is to enable children to be consciously aware that they have choices, and that their choices, thoughts and actions impact others. Most importantly, “Letters to Daddy” is a proactive, peer-to-peer, solution-based approach to common challenges.
County Executive Edward A. Diana addressed the audience of educators, community leaders and local families, thanking 4e Productions for their commitment to help young people through this production. “Bullying, especially with the pervasive nature of social media, texting and cell phones today, is a serious issue requiring the attention and concerted efforts of the community,” explained Diana. “Letters to Daddy uses the power of peer-influence and development of positive role models to address many life issues, such as bullying, that confront our kids today. Orange County is pleased to support and sponsor this program, which is being offered to all elementary and middle schools in the county to create opportunities for dialogue and education.”
The Premiere will be followed by a tour of community performances, including a show at Warwick High School on Thursday October 20 and in Newburgh at Mount St. Mary College on Thursday October 27. A full schedule can be found at www.letterstodaddy.com.
Because of the heightened sensitivity to bullying, 4e Productions and its mission have been recognized and endorsed by Orange County Executive Edward A. Diana and received support from many community organizations such as The Department of Social Services, The Youth Bureau, System of Care, and the Orange County Business Accelerator.
