Kick-off the holiday season with a fun family day at an Orange County, N.Y. tree farm
ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. (November 1, 2018) – Late November marks the time for a special family trip to Orange County, N.Y. This section of Hudson Valley countryside is dotted with tree farms offering a wide variety of Christmas trees and fun family experiences. Whether you come to chop-your-own or choose a pre-cut tree, plan on a day of merriment and special events just one hour “over the river and through the woods” from New York City.
“Half the fun is searching out the perfect Christmas tree,” says Orange County Tourism Director Amanda Dana. “Find the one that will look picture-perfect in your home. Chop one down with your family, sip hot chocolate, and take your best holiday card photos to complete this memorable experience. If your timing’s right, there could even be a dusting of snow on those fragrant branches!”
There are 18 tree farms listed at Orange County Tourism’s Christmas Tree Farms Category at OrangeTourism.org. It’s always advisable to confirm hours, events, and available tree varieties in advance.
