Jacobowitz & Gubits proudly announced that it donated $1,240.00 or the equivalent of 4,950 lbs. of food to the 2013 Hudson Valley Food Bank Food Frenzy.
Jacobowitz & Gubits is one of many local businesses and organizations that participated in the annual fight against hunger. Their combined efforts resulted in the equivalent of 9,711 lbs. of food to stock the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley’s warehouse, which serves Orange, Ulster, Dutchess, Rockland, Sullivan and Putnam counties.
“Hunger is a real problem here in the Hudson Valley and local businesses and organizations really stepped up their game this year to tackle the issue,” said Howard Protter, partner at Jacobowitz and Gubits. “The competitive nature of the event and the desire to make a difference in our home community helped all participants surpass their goals. The need is still very real for many individuals and families in our region and Jacobowitz & Gubits is committed to help.”
The Food Bank, located in Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y., serves more than 400 feeding programs in the Hudson Valley, consisting of food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, day care centers, senior programs, rehabilitation programs and programs for the disabled.
Since its inception in 2009, with the support of Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress, the Hudson Valley Food Frenzy has resulted in donations of more than 66,000 lbs. of food via this friendly competition to benefit the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley.
